Wheel Size Opinions Please

Thinking about getting some new 19in wheels.

The fronts are 19 x 9.5 weighing approx. 29 lbs a wheel

The rears are 19 x 11.5 weighing approx. 33 lbs a wheel

Safety is one of the first things that came to mind. Are these too big and too heavy?

This is a 3-piece forged wheels.

Opinions welcome.

If you are concern with safety, the rigidity matters much more than "lightness" of the wheels.

And you sure those wheel has proper offset?
Not only that, wide and heavy wheels on fronts definitely dulls the steering feel.

Forged out of what? Steel? Those are damn heavy wheels. Are they dipped in chrome? I feel those are too heavy, and I wouldn't install them on my car.

Forged aluminum. They say the rivets alone (since it's a 3piece) adds close to 3lbs a wheel.

For a 3 piece wheel in those sizes, that is not terribly heavy. Although it is on the heavy side.

When you say "it is a forged wheel", are you sure that both the center, as well as the inner and outter barrel are forged? Many 3 piece wheel companies sell "forged wheels" that use cast barrel's and forged centers. In my opinion, the barrel is actually what needs to be forged for strength due to it's shape and location in relation to impacts.

Also, as stated, those are very aggressive sizes. Not to say that it can not be done, but I hope the manufacturer and shop that you are purchasing from can correctly size the offset and tires.

If you want to say the brand name I'm sure more opinions can be given. Or just PM me if you are are uncomfortable giving the brand name for some reason.

No problem at all. They are DTM Kreuz wheels.

The vendor said that all three parts of the wheels are forged (center, inner and outer barrel)

But, there wouldn't be any way for me to tell by looking at them

Apparently, FWIW, DTM Kreuz has been bought by Iforged wheels.

Kind of leaning towards not doing this anymore. I'll maybe just wait for bbs wheels to come in stock.
