You need to select videos on the ipod itself,
To switch screen from stock to video, either press idrive "Menu" button or "Down Arrow" button on steering wheel for couple seconds.

Gary, trust me it's not hard at all,
Just DIY guide is long to read, because I had to take every single picture to make it very detailed

Sounds interesting, I actually go down to LA sometimes to visit my friends,
If any of you can setup a space/place to install for me, I can def do free install for like 2-3 cars per day

Yes, I'll be offering front view camera pretty soon, currently it's in develop, and the interface kit has AV out,
And you will be able to record your front view or rear view with your video camera.

i want to know, does this apply to the 09 Idrive or it can also be apply to 08? (since my car has the older version)

Also, I do have factory install rear camera, so does it necessary to get the camera as well or just the center unit is fine?

Plus, you're guide mention that the power comes from the cigarette lighter source, if I plus stuff like a USB charger on top of it....will it pop my fuse ? (As I do not to charge my phone through that same source as well...

Our last ~2008 unit was installed on 2005 5 series
(No iphone/ipod video playback option was added)

Rear View Camera

In reverse gear

Activated rear view while driving - the difference is parking guide lines, it will only appear when you are backing up
