BMWNA info versus dealer on production status

I have seen a lot of comments about BMWNA phone support is much more frequently updated compared to the automated phone information, Who has more accurately updated production information BMWNA or the dealer?

If it is to be believed, in my case my dealer has much more accurate information. For my order my dealer modified an existing order for a non M car in 112 status. I had the order emailed to me with the production number. On the BMW website it still lists it as a 335. On both the website and phone center they say that it is waiting for production without a set date. My dealer emailed me that it went into production four days ago on Saturday. Is whatever system the dealer has that much more accurate?

Thanks for any insight.

I'm by no means an expert, but from my research the dealer has access to much more accurate information than we do via BMW NA. The dealer's tracking system shows more info including which stage of production the car is in as well as which boat your car is on once it ships.

Just found out the production number I was given by the dealer was one digit off because of the poor quality of the scan of the production order that the dealer emailed to me. I put in the correct number a minute ago and the 335 that I had been tracking is now my E90 M3! Better yet it is showing in production.

Great news. I wonder if our cars might end up on the same boat. Mine is still waiting to be loaded on a ship.

I hope yours doesn't wait for mine. Mine isn't due to finish until next week.
