My choices, too.
And I went for one of them, the E63. Only because I felt it was easier to live with every day as a daily driver (more torque for street driving and smoother tranny for traffic, etc..) But I'm going to keep an eye on the F10 M5 for maybe the next option someday. Maybe another option as a 'one and only car' would be a S65 AMG. Functional, comfortable. |

![]() 5500 pound monster with 550 horsepower that hits 60 in 5 seconds... wow, great choice. i hope you didn't put "performance" into your list of "categories". i'd love getting murdered by cars that cost literally 100 grand less. ![]() i'll take a koenigsegg ccx. don't give a shit about space or passengers. why would i if i could drive this: ![]() |

^ What?
I think you may be missing the point of having only one vehicle, period. At least that is how I read the thread topic. edit: I just read someone else picked the Porsche. "think"

Those two choices cover all the bases. btw, picking a Koenigsegg or a Mclaren F1, etc., as your only form of transportation that you have to live with for the rest of your life in the real world is like choosing Birkenstocks and a Speedo for life in the Arctic. Only dimwits need apply. Or fantasy boy racers on car forums. ![]() |

^ Right.
I think the title/question is being misunderstood or something. ![]() The future says I will be murdered if I ever buy the Porsche or MB as a sole vehicle........."oh nohz"

One car for the rest of your life, and you guys think the cars you've selected here are going to last 50-60 years of daily use?
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() These cars are all chock full of electronics, switches and computers that will fail. They are also mostly gasoline guzzlers with few options for alternative fuels. Now, I understand the desire to want the "dream car" to live with for the rest of your life, but that is fantasy way beyond even the original question of the thread. The Toyota Hilux Diesel would be my choice. If those clowns (and I mean that affectionately) at Top Gear can't kill one by any means, including fire, I know it will go the distance and not be pulled along by donkeys in 30 years. I know, spoil-sport party pooper..... ![]() ![]() ![]() But hey, I'll be there to give you guys a tow! ![]()
