What to expect when ordering an M3?
I will very likely order a 2010 M3 in the next month or so, would like to hear from those that ordered theirs.
- What was the process like? - How much down? - Do you have to find the financing before car is delivered? - etc? Thanks!!!

I got approved for financing the day I put the deposit down in order to lock in a good rate. You typically don't need to find financing until the day you sign, though. (In my experience)

-placed $1k non-refundable deposit on May 20th, 2009 (non-refundable due to 'risky' stripped version I ordered). -My order was processed and I recieved a production # on May 22. -Few days after processing my order, dealer emailed me a credit application so I could get the financing taken care of before hand. -Dealer called me on July 10th and notified me that my M3 had finally arrived, and that it would be ready for pick-up the very next day. -Completed all the remaining paper work, placed additional deposit, and picked up my baby on July 11th ![]() |

- What was the process like?
Very simple, I went in with a friend who knew the sales manager of the dealership. We did some numbers for about 15-20 minutes and long behold I signed for the M3. - How much down? I did a lease on a 2009 E92 fully loaded. The day I signed, I had to put $500 USD down. When I picked up my car, I paid my taxes, fees, and first month's payment upfront...amounted to like $6K or something like that. (included in that was also the tire/road hazard warranty). - Do you have to find the financing before car is delivered? Didn't need financing as I leased my M3. I did have to get approved first, which was done same day. They even offered me a BMW credit card since my credit was very good..I told them I have enough credit cards right now but appreciated the offer. - etc? Overall, I was very pleased with my BMW dealer/experience in ordering my M. Just be sure to read over all the fine print, ask questions when you are not sure, and most of all enjoy it!!!! Best of luck.
