Service Interval Question

Just bought my 2007 M3. The dealer apparently serviced it at 17,200 last week and the next service indicator says 14,000. It also though says 11/2009. This doesn't sound right as we won't be doing those miles by then. Should the date and mileage not be in line?
Thanks, Mark

You've never heard the phrase "whichever comes first" in conjuction with warranty or maintenance parameters?

Yes but it can't be 11/2009 if they just serviced it last week can it?

It sounds like the BMW technician just forgot to reset the service indicator when he completed the scheduled maintenance on the car.

His location states: Wellingborough

That's a town in Northamptonshire, England.

The first Euro-spec M3's were 2007 models.

The first US-spec M3's were 2008 models.

I got my car just after it's released, production Sept 07, got it around oct, but it's an 08, last e46 were 06, then there's a year in between, so the first models, euro, are 08

Unfortunately, it's not that simple...

Yes, it was registered November 07. The BMW dealer said they serviced it - were they lying?

Sorry, didn't catch that... Yes, it seems odd. If they forgot to reset it, then why would it say 14000 miles. If they did reset it, then why would the date be wrong.
