Here in Texas check out autotrader, I did a search and 13 popped up with low miles under 50k.

If you looking for an 08 i think you should definately buy a used 08 for 46-48k, atleast this way you wont lose much in dep.
yep - that appears to be the going rate used '08s - I just bid 45k on one @ a manheim auction and it ultimately went for 47 k

Of course, you can find used '08s in the $46-48K range. However, the value of the car is not only related to mileage, but when it went into service.

An '08 that went into service in 10/07 is worth considerably less than an '08 that shows an in-service date of 6/09. There is also a pretty good spread between E90/92s and E93s.

$60K is a good price for a completely loaded E93 with a 6/09 in-service date and 100 miles on the clock.

50-52 is a good price for a fully loaded 08' M3. I just picked one up with only 2,000 miles for 52, but it was in impeccable shape and had every option you could have (except DCT which was a good thing for me). That's a 20,000 depreciation hit in less than 2 years. No offense to the guys who bought new, but man...that's a relatively cheap way to get a high-perf car. I say buy used all the way...especially with these kinds of cars that are so overpriced when new.

I've been noticing a trend on these forums when its come to the topic of used 08 M3 prices. Seems everyone has an opinion on what these cars should sell for and its usually a low number. Funny thing is I never hear it from people who actually brought cars at that low price that they cite. Can people at least reference if they brought cars at these ridiculous low prices, if they going to throw out these low prices? It would help 'real' private sellers/buyers on what the realistic market is for these cars.

And lets try to stay away from the Manheim auction prices, cause:

a) the majority of folks here aren't licensed dealers or have friends who are dealers who can buy those cars for them.

b) There is a difference in a car that is brought from an auction and from say a private owner. With the private owner car, you are getting a bit more security in knowing about the car, (ie service, where they brought it, did they take care of the car, etc.). That is why when you compare apples to apples, a private sold car would be worth more then a car that is an unknown quality (i.e. from the auctions).

Yep, and in addition these posts usually don't note whether they are talking about an E90, a 92 or a 93. Even within each model, there is a large price spread depending upon options, and adding it all together you're talking $10-15K in possible price difference, depending upon model and equipment.

Exactly. I'm assuming most of those low ball prices people throw out on these forums are mostly sedans. e92 (coupes) when new, are 4k more then their sedan counterparts. In addition does the e92 have a CF roof or moonroof, again a price difference. Does the car have DCT (a $2700.00 option)? Again a price difference. Is it a e93 (vert)? You guys get the picture.
