Question Springs for the E93?

Contacted my Dinan dealer today about the above, and they said that the fat butt on the E93 would mean that the Dinan spring rate is not appropriate for my car. I'm looking for the results folks are saying about the Dinan spring set: a little lower, a little better controlled, works great with EDC. This is not a track car. Stock springs are pretty good, but a little better is always, em, a little better. Any suggestions?

The E93 is heavier so you do need a different spring rate for that car. I would look into the H&R Sports which will offer the lower ride and stiffer setup without being to harsh for daily use. They are a good compromise between comfort and performance.

I lowered my car with H&R springs about a year ago, at that time they didnt have specific springs for the E93; so I bought E92 springs. sits a tad bit lower due to the extra weight, but rides nice otherwise.

i concur. my e93 is on e92 springs (h&r). it rides just fine. a bit stiffer but i don't feel anything weird. the rear is lower than that of the e92, which i actually like coz' i think the springs on e92 (or the e93 ones on e93) give too much of a rake look

ACS Springs

Yes, ACS makes a specific kit for the E93 M3. The drop is perfect, smooth ride, and EDC compatible.

Sorry, in my opinion those folks who went with the E92 application on their E93 made a mistake. It looks dumped, but if that's your cup of tea....

Peter at *******perts can get you set up right.

We are an ACS dealer but I have to be honest, for a spring set, it's not worth the premium ACS charges for their brand of springs when there are perfectly acceptable alternatives from Eibach and H&R.

I don't agree with your assessment, especially since the E93 specific speced H&R springs haven't been produced/shipped by H&R for the US market yet (August 2009 - "maybe" as told by H&R themselves).

Yes, There is a part number for the E93 M3, but the part itself doesn't exist in the US yet. As a dealer you should have known that. Not trying to flame, but more than 1 sponsor on the board said they had it, then had to back track when they tried to find an ETA for shipment. It was then, they learned the part is not yet available.
