Question for REMUS RACE owners...

Hi all

Please can Remus RACE owners confirm the level of drone with this exhaust. How bad is it? What is the drone like crusing along at 70-80mph?

Would appreciate your feedback

It was bad right when I got the exhaust but its seems much better cruising now after breaking the exhaust in. Overall I love the sound of the remus system.

Having second thoughts already Paulie!!!??? Ive been out in an M3 fitted with the Remus Race, he'd had it on about a month and i have to say drone seemed very minimal and only at a certain part of the rev range - everytime it made a little noise he just adjusted the throttle position slightly and it all but disappeared. As ive said before, you will struggle to ever find a performance exhaust that sounds better than stock that wont drone at all.

Just listened to your voicemail matey - sorry im in the studio, so phone is on silent and cant talk!! My friend had the Remus Race on his E92 M3 but sold the whole car with the mods about 4 weeks ago - he has the new RS6 Avant now. Personally i think you will regret it if you buy the sport versions of these performance exhausts, one because they just dont sound much different to stock, and two because virtually all aftermarket exhausts will drone to some degree.
Ps; Im about to order the AA X-Pipe/Secondary Cat Delete whilst i wait for the Remus Race to come in!!!

Hi mates, I haven't heard the Race exhaust itself but many others on other
V8 and 6cyl engines in the past as I'm sure you all have too. My experiance is those that have the resinator's removed end up with terrible, anoying drone. The replacement of the Race exhaust itself is not going to create drone that would be an issue, especially for daily driving. I had a '76 Trans Am once with a 400cc v8, dual exhaust, no Cats, no resinators, and no exhaust muffler of any kind. It was a beast of a machine. Drone was actually not much of a problem as I drove it daily. But WOT in a tunnel, and other people were plugging their ears! LOL!! It woudl set off alarms in the parking lot when I started it up. Awesome!! I think it'll be fine and we'll enjoy every minute of it. Not to worry.

I had it, and the drone at 70mph personally was very annoying. You can shift to 5th at 70mph and the drone goes away but I didn't want to do that all the time. I actually wasn't that happy with the exhaust only due to the drone, other then that it sounded nice.

The Remus Sport is blood loud in itself, you hear the car coming from streets away...There is a drone around 2,000rpm which can be annoying at times.

I have the Remus Sport and it is not loud at all; think you mean the Race?

Well I bought mine in Australia before I saw the Race advertised anywhere...But if what you say is correct it may well be a Race version.....

+1 ^. I'm also in the boat debating between the race and the sport exhaust. Judging from the ModBargins video..I like the sound of the race a whole lot more outside the car. Inside the car however, I'm also worried about the annoying drone.

Anyone have an in car vid?
