Ok, so I can't find a hitch for an M3. Although I believe the sub frame is the same as the 335 and since I've changed the exhaust and have two separate "cans" instead of one, like OEM. I am hoping the hitch will fit. CURT makes a small hitch for the 335, the question is, I need to find a company that will let me return it should it not work..

I used to carry around 5 wheels/tires on the roof of my E46M3 in a Thule basked on BMW bars. It worked well enough, with the main issue being the risk of dropping a tire on the car while loading.

4 tires also fit comfortably in the back seat on both the E9X and E46.

for the e46 you can comfortably fit 4 wheels with mounted tires in the folded down rear seats... i'd assume it's the same with the e9x m3's. it shouldnt be a problem... just grab some old blankets or tire totes and you're set!

It is a challenge fitting all four wheels in the car (E92). It can be done, but its not easy, when you have all the other crap you need. Tires, Jack, bin full of tools, helmet, beach style chair(s), cooler, spray water can, and a second passenger.. I usually put three in the back, with the bin and a suitcase for longer trips, one in the trunk with the floor jack, disassembled, one or two beach chairs, an umbrella, pop up ten, cooler, 2 gal. spray bottle and I think that's about it.

I've opted to purchase a featherlite 3110. Should be here in a few weeks. Life will be so much easier..
