135i Logic 7 sound system vs. E92 M3 enhanced sound

Dropped my E92 M3 off this morning for the 1200 mile break-in service. They gave me a new 135i to drive. Is it just me or does the Logic 7 sound system in the 135i/335i thump a little better than the M3 enhanced premium sound system? Maybe I'm just hearing things. I'm sure this has been discussed many times before...

I don't know about the reality of it but in terms of specs the EPS option in the M3 is vastly superior to the Logic 7 system. That being said my ears don't find the EPS to be particularly impressive. If Logic 7 were available on the M3 in the USA I would have gladly gotten that. I feel kind of ripped off over the cost of EPS.

True...spec wise they don't compare, but for some reason the Logic 7 system sounds a little more intense.

I've come to learn that you should never expect "thump" from any factory upgraded sound system. Its just not going to happen. Mostly because its not feasible for the factory to care about such things. The only time the factory upgrade is worth it is for people who are not overly critical about sound reproduction but want a little more volume over the base system. Anything more than that is just asking way too much.

The weird thing is the Logic7 is mentioned in my owner's manual; guess it was skipped in the US. For what I could tell, the Logic7 is a step UP from our enhanced. But at the same time, the Logic7 on 'lesser' cars might be below our enhanced. Does anybody have the stats? Although that doesn't tell you much. My enhanced sounds great.

The logic 7 is a step down from the Individual audio system offered in the M3. I had the Logic 7 system in my previous 335i sedan and I can say that the system in my M3 has a cleaner sound. The amount of "thump" might be close, but the M3 system does it with less distortion. I think both systems are damn good for a factory stereo.

You also have to look at the equalizer settings and such. Maybe the 135i loaner had the bass cranked up.

+1. Even after getting the EPS, I went with an aftermarket system because I thought it was absolute garbage
