Nothing I didn't expect.

The 911 S weighs 500 lbs less and is pushing more torque than the M3 coupe.

Exactly, I have driven the new PDK and compared to the M3 I can't feel the jerk at all, just buttery smooth shifts with maximum effect.

P.S.

If anyone expected a different result from this they were away with the fairies. The new 997 is incredibly quick (996 turbo quick), imagine what it would do to a stock M3 in either form.

The M3 DCT is barely, and I mean barely faster than the OLD Porsche 911S in a straight line.
The M3 DCT traps around 113 mph stock, the old C2S did 112+.
The regular Carrera with PDK out accelerated the M3 DCT in a recent Car and Driver road test.

It's no surprise the more powerful Carrera S would put a few car lengths on it.

That Kelleners tune for the M3 must suck though, doesn't seem like it did anything to even keep the M3 close to the P-car.

Looks like the C2S might trap in the 116+ mph range stock. Quick car, lovely car, but over $100k decently equipped now is insane.

If both are stock then I would guess the distance you see here between the C2S with PDK and the tuned M3 with DCT would be a good example of how that race would go.

It's just a shame those awful buttons are standard.

That 911 C2S PDK is very quick, it's beaten heaps of other higher powered cars...IIRC the M5 touring with 507HP only beat it by a couple of car lengths...

That same modified M3 DCT beat C63 so I don't think the tune sucks...

The new 911s with PDK is the car I would upgrade to next after the M3.

I absolutely LOVE that car both performance and looks and it has back seats that I need for the baby seat...

Anyway, it's guaranteed that PDK is damn quick with a added bonus of being smooth .

About the buttons, check this out. Apparently Gemballa is offering to replace those "buttons'' with F1 type paddle shifters. If I ever get the money to buy a PDK equipped Carrera, I think this is a must mod for me.

Those buttons for gears are now replaced with buttons for horns

I'm upset we have this video everywhere and not one with the STOCK m3. That would be interesting.

+1 with the others about putting arguments to rest. Porsche vs. m3 are not comparable cars in terms of performance, practicality, and price. Different leagues.
