Doing ED on an E92 M3, Can I get the 1200 mile service?
I know for a fact I will be driving over 1200 miles while I'm down there with my DCT E92 m3...
Would I have to stop for the 1200 mile service or what? I do plan on driving to Hamburg and then back which will equate about 1000 miles so I would have to drive around a lil more to get the 1200 mile service? But can I get it done? and do I have to?

Dont HAVE to but if you wanted you can take it to a dealer over there but you have to pay. I heard rumors of BMWNA reimbursing you for it though.
If I were you, I would just drive till 1k-1200 miles then when they bring the car back to the states, have your local dealer perform your 1200 mile service before you pick it up. ![]()

Yes. (1) But do book ahead for service. Resources at some dealers are limited so depending on where you think you will hit 2K kays that should be factored (btw, I miss the logicality of kms - there's a reason why the U.S. 'forces have gone mostly metric). (2)retain all receipts: you will have to pay then submit to your dealer's service mgr. In due course your should be reimbursed. Think I may need to do this myself (Aix-).

The service will take about 4 hours to complete. Depending on where you are going to be, I can call a couple of dealers in my area Nurnberg, Ansbach, Wurzburg, and set you up with an appointment. I think the cost is about $400 with a lot of that being the oil.

I did not get an actual quote, but the "rumors" have the first service at about 400 to 500 Euro +/- (without the VAT). YMMV Hopefully BMW NA will re-imburse you.

I had my 1200 mile service done at Pressath. Total cost without VAT was 292 euros. OP, I would get written confirmation from BMW NA before you take delivery that they will recoup any 1200 mile service costs. You don't want to be trying to get them to cover it after the fact and then find out they aren't willing to do so.

My 1200 mile service was completed in Barcelona. BMW Cano Catalunya. The cost was over 800 Euros.
. I was reimbursed by BMW for the service. You should check with your SA and confirm. |

You can get reimbursed from BMW/NA. It works like this. You pay in Europe. You keep receipt. Call BMW NA. They contact your dealer at home. The dealer at home invoices the 1200 service and then the home dealer cuts you a check once they get paid from BMW/NA. It takes a bit of time, but you will get paid. This is more common then you think.

When I did my ED last summer I had the 1200 miles done in Greece for about 180 euros at BMW dealership. Took less than 2 hours and they even knew they shouldn't change the DCT fluid!
