Tyre advice

Need 2 new tyres for the rear road wheels on the M3.

I have Breyton GTS 19 inch wheels on the car and have run Michelin PS2 Pilot Sport 265/35/19 tyres for the last year.

I wondered if anyone knew if I could increase the tyre width on those wheels safely? 275 or 285 for example?

Wheel size is 19x9.5.

Also Continental Sport Contact 3's seem to come out 40 a tyre cheaper than the Michelins. Anyone have any advice on the quality of the Contis vs the Michelins please? Wet weather performance is important, I live in Yorkshire!

Cheers

I've been researching tire sizes as well. According to the published Michelin PS2 specs., the same tire in a 275/35-19 is only 2/10ths inch wider, 3/10ths inch taller, and weighs 2 lbs. more. A 285/35-19 is 6/10ths wider, 7/10ths taller, and weighs 3 lbs more than stock.

Both will mount just fine on a 9.5" 19 wheel. You should be fine.

285s will fit (depending on offset), but would be better on a 10" wheel. Id say the 275/35s would be best for you.
