09 M3s crappy bluetooth call quality

I always thought that it was my iPhone that sucked as people would constantly complain about not being able to hear me. (or that I sound distant) Turns out that it's my m3. Tested the same phone on 2 other 08 m3s. Calls were crystal clear according to the receiving side. I'm wondering if the new idrive is to blame. Anyone with a 09 can tell me how well/bad their Bluetooth call quality is?

I too have an 09 with the bluetooth option and the sound quality is pretty poor. Plus I do not have iDrive.

I have the 09 with IDrive and people actually can't tell I'm on a handsfree call. No problems with mine. I also use the 3G Iphone FWIW.

No problems with my Bluetooth quality...'09 with IDrive and 5k miles in useage.

Maybe there is a mic volume setting? It seems that the issue is that they can't here me. If i speak directly at the mic loudly, they can hear better.

They do tell me that it sounds the same on the interstate as it does at a stop light. So it just seems to be the mic volume...

????

according to people my bluetooth isnt that clear but a lot of it has to do with my exhaust i think cos when i pullover and shut the engine off and talk, everyone can hear each other crystal clear.

09 here, first gen iPhone. No problems going out and call quality on the other end, but sometime its muted on my end, it also has a strange ring while calling

Very different from my 335, never had a single problem. Why would there be differences between the two...something engineered?

ditto, 08 e90, bluetooth sucks. Dropped calls and generally bad call quality. Iphone on my end.

09, idrive, 6FL with cradle.

Initially my wife complained that it sounded bad, but now she doesn't mind. In fact, today, she couldn't tell I was on bluetooth. Nobody else has ever complained.

I have the 3g iphone. All calls received and dialed are very low in volume for the first 2-3 seconds then it resumes to a normal volume. But every time I dial a number, I can barely hear the ring, so I don't really know when the person picks up the phone which is a bit annoying. Anyone else have this problem?

Mine is fine. I have the smartphone integration option with the iPhone 3G cradle.

Mine was bad at first but the last few software updates for the iPhone seems to have made it better.
