Little helpneeded with US spec radio in erope

Hey,
Finally my brother called he recieved my car, i unfortunately have to wait another few weeks to get home to pick it up. But i have a problem with the us radio,it plays only odd numbers of the FM frequency, for eg it plays 96.5 but not 96.4. Does anybody know how to change this?

To use the US radio in Europe, you'll need to tune manually.
Scan and auto presets will turn up nothing.

I thought my antenna wasn't connected, but the US system of frequency assignment is completely different. Any annoying reality.

Good luck,

Greetings again. Just take your car to the local dealership in Switzerland, and they will plug in a computer and change your freq band, I have an American model and had mine done at my dealer. Radio now picks up European stations perfectly. Of course before I go back to the USA will have to have this changed back.

Hi rcornelius

Do you think it would be possible to et details from your dealer on how they did this? Some dealers have issues with this and are reluctant to perform the task. There are MANY users on this forum who have the same problem, so it would be of great value to understand how this was done.

thanks!

If your radio is the non-iDrive (Professional HU) try pressing and holding the "m" button. This member is saying that the E9x HU works like the E46's in changing the frequency tuning: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...27&postcount=7

That's news to me as I thought that it was only possible thru dealer programming.

Same problem here. No solution yet. Not for iDrive '08 at least.
Check the US Expatriate subforum for US Specs cars in Europe.
So if anyone knows a local dealer that can do this. Please share.

Thanks!
