Bigger tips on OEM exhaust
Has anyone installed larger tips on the stock system, say like 3" or larger. I'm not interested in spending $$$ on a new exhaust, just thought the tips could be larger. Probably could get it done for $100- $150.00 at an exhaust shop.

prob an easy mod to do. only downside is that you'll have to hack your stock muffler since the tips are welded on to the muffler not clamped on...
tips should cost bout $35 to $65 each so youll be spending around $200 for 4 tips. magnaflow makes great double walled tips, so does borla. they're the most economical ones on the market.

I was thinking the same thing!!! I did this on my E46 M3. You dont have to hack off tips they are held by rivets. Just pop the rivets off and weld the new tips on. The only thing is will these tips slide on and fit the OEM Muffler??? Not sure on the E9x series yet. Heres an example of what to do. http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showt...rosport&page=9 just read this and keep following the install. Here are the tips for example https://www.eurosportdesign.com/pc-2...aust-tips.aspx
