wheel and tire for track use??

I would like to get some reasonably priced wheel and tire combo for track use.
Would like to stick with 18' rims (weight and price)

On the tire side i think about 255/40 18 front 9,5 width rim,
rear 275/35 18 on 10 inch rim or maybe 285/30 18 on 10,5 rim
right now I consider Hoosier R6, A6
Rather avoid spacers if possible.

Any thought on rims rims/tire combo?

I could not find too much on tirerack, though I have good experience with them so if possible I would stay with them.

Here is my setup. You should consider BFG R1s.

Thanks,

I like the TE37's!! They are really strong and one of the lightest!
I could not find them at tirerack.
Where did you get them??

They had a used set I picked up.

I think Tirerack has them in 19".

I've been looking at ideas for a while now... I just need the $$$.
Since I SCCA Solo II, I need to keep to stock wheel sizes. So I was going to do the Advan RS 18x8.5 (et32) front $580/per and weigh around 18 lbs. The RS 18x9.5 (et25)rear $607/per. These seem to be the best value for race wheels and didn't require spacers. If I was going the cheapest route, Enkei RP03's at half the cost of the Advan, but in 19" (35 offset front, 20 in the rear) ... prices based on Vivid's website

Tires are tougher....
Hoosier A6. 255/35r18 in front ($300/per), 295/30r18 in rear($322). Contemplated shoe-horning a 265 over the front wheel... also note the tirerack spec's on the rear since they can fit the 9.5" wheel.

With 19" wheels, you'd be limited to 235's front, 265's rear unless you shoehorn...

$3,680 total on the 18" package plus mounting, heat cycling, etc.. So who wants to sponsor me?

For track setup, MarksM used 18x10's all around with 285's and was going to bump the rears up to a 315...
