Need help with painted reflector install
HELLLLLPPPP!!!!
![]() I tried to remove the stock painted reflector and it wouldn't budge. I don't want to keep jamming a screwdriver in between the reflector and the bumper. I checked the DIY for this and it's pretty lousy. Can anyone give any pointers on how to properly remove the painted reflector. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

All Thumbs
No screwdriver required.
Use your thumb to push the fender along the outside of the reflector. You have to push pretty hard and it will pop right out. Make sure you don't let it drop inside the fender. TBB |

seriously? PUSH HARD on the lower edge of the reflector in an UPWARD motion and then out towards your body...it will move up allowing clearance for the tabs that keep it locked in as there are small upside down u-shaped springs that compress...once you do this and feel the reflector move pull the reflector towards you and it will pop out...they go in the opposite way. You have to use a good amount of strength and may take several time to get it right.

I used a old credit card and squeezed it under the reflector. Then I slowly worked the credit car around the reflector to loosen it up a bit. Hope this helps

Nevermind, I figured it out. The trick is to wedge the longer side of a credit card or a plastic card underneath the reflector. Once the card is wedged in there, then you have to wiggle and push the reflector upwards. After a few tries they poped right out.
Thank God |

glad you got it, just pushing it in like others had said was the easiest way most people are too afraid to give it a little more strength for fear of ruining the bumper...

Most of the painted reflectors are OEM ones that have been sanded and painted, so fit should not be an issue. It would surprise me if someone is molding custom pieces.
