I don't know, I've never intentionally attempted to drive the slowest way possible around a time trial course.

if it's the drifting that's supposed to be cool, then yeah great. drifting is the automotive version of figure skating. some people love it, I'm not into it.
Gymkhana is a hybrid of BOTH autocross and drifting. So you're right and wrong.

You're welcome. The aren't that fast but they are so great and not very expensive to buy/maintain either.

This may be the case now but back when I was 18yrs old and my Escort flat nosed Punto 2000cc cost me 5K. That was twenty four years ago and this was nowhere near a championship car, even then it was an aging rallycar.

My guess was that car kicked out about 200~210hp but was a joy to drive and totally controllable. I wish modern car had the same steering feel that I had back then.

P.S.
The weight distribution was nowhere near the 50/50 BMW believe is necessary.

The 'live rear axle' or whatever it is called was great in keeping the thing sideways, and it didn't weigh much. Weight distribution could have been 55F 45R? Or was it the other way around? Dunno

I don't exactly know the weight difference between the two axles but I suspect it closer to Audi's than BMW's ratio. I know traction was always an issue with my Escort, I could easily light the rears up to approx 100mph if there was a bit of damp on the road.

I'm liking the concavity of his wheels. The sliding though, I'll take it from the bystanders point. Those are some b!tchin Pslides tho.

Controlled, Skilled driving! He's an amazing driver on snow, dirt, gravel, ski-slopes and on the tarmac. Check out some of his videos if you're not a believer.

Sorry bud, but you’re the douchebag. You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about. Gymkhana is certainly not autocross. If it was, they would have just called it autocross, genius. The way a Gymkhana track is laid out, it encourages the driver to use flamboyant driving and drifting techniques. Car control is even more important in Gymkhana over autocross. This video shows tremendous car control that most people will never be able to duplicate.
