imagine if Barack signed a law that Mormans could rape thier wives- but not catholics

(religions chosen at random - dont take offence. see below)

KABUL - A new Afghan law makes it legal for men to rape their wives, human rights groups and some Afghan lawmakers said Thursday, accusing President Hamid Karzai of signing the legislation to bolster his re-election prospects.

Critics worry the legislation undermines hard-won rights for women enacted after the fall of the Taliban's strict Islamist regime.

The law which some lawmakers say was never debated in parliament is intended to regulate family life inside Afghanistan's Shiite community, which makes up about 20 percent of this country of 30 million people. The law does not affect Afghan Sunnis.

1. What is the source for this article?

2. What is this article's basis for this claim that this law is doing what it says? Who are "some Afghan lawmakers?" "some <group of people>" = classic Fox News tactic.

3. Does the source you derived this from state anything about the reasoning behind why this specific law applies to Shias?

4. Does the word "context" mean anything to idiots like yourself?

5. Are you happy that your hero, Bush Jr, put a tin-pot thug in charge of Afghanistan?

Just goes to show how bankrupt George Bush's claim was that he was going to spread pro-western democracy across the middle east. He was a complete failure.

Iraq had an anti-Iranian gov't. Now after Bush, Iraq has a Pro-Iran gov't. Gee, thanks.

Afghanistan now is being slowly split into small autonomous regions effectively ruled by local religious figures, because Bush's installed leader only rules over a small fraction of the nation. Why did that happen? Because Bush dropped the ball when he let Iraq take all the focus.

Now Obama has to clean up Bush's mess, and idiots like the OP are trying to blame the mess on the guy stuck cleaning it up. The use of Islamic Law in areas of Afghanistan, and negotiations in Afghanistan to make it legal LONG predate Obama taking office.

Yet another example of the right-wing trying to push off their failures to the next administration to clean up.

Karzai and his brother are two of the world's biggest drug traffickers. They own the poppy fields. Look it up if you don't believe me.

I think I have long stopped caring about what goes on in other countries. I think at this point we shoud say, "OK, we've killed enough of them, lets go." And leave them to their mud huts, the rocks they call furniture, and their pathetic half toothless existence.

Seriously, why is it that when you see pics of the people over there and half their teeth are gone? So when we leave, I suggest dumping a couple of crates of Crest in the middle of that dump, and watch whoevers left duke it out for that treasure.
