From a rolling start that gives the M6 the advantage...from a standing start the M6 wouldn't get past untill 100mph and on the track the M3 beats the M6 more often than not.

No doubt, the m5/m6 is faster in a straight line. But this is the example you give. The driver of the M3 is utter garbage.

maybe after your mods, you'll change your mind about the outcome. you might be short on torque but have to take into consideration that your lighter

Not nearly as bad as an M5/M6. Many of us are averaging 17+ MPG (..mixed) from our M3's. My buddies with M5/M6's average between 8-11 MPG. Ummmm....I'll keep the M3.

I have a friend that owns a DCT E92 M3 with AA software, catless X pipe, exhaust, pulley and air filter and another friend with a stock 6 speed M6. I was a passenger in the M3 for a quick impromptu run against the M6 (driver alone). Run was pretty even from 70 to approx 140 mph but... the ability of the driver of the M6 is suspect . I've been trying to get them to do a real run but it has never happened..

Based on having driven this particular M3, I'd bet on it up to 150+ mph against a stock M6 or M5. FYI: I've driven a SMG M6 numerous times in the past (though it was a vert)...In any event, it would definitely be close either way...

Not to mention that it's not just engine torque that matters. You need to figure in the gearing to get the true torque acting on the car.

Wouldn't completely agree with that opinion because in the right hands the M6 will perform but where as the M3 can be driven hard with modest amounts of ability and bravery the M6 requires a lot more skill and testicles the size of basketballs.

Maybe that's why T Bone drives one.

I sat in an M6 at the dealership and didn't like the seats. That plus the increase in size and wt. is a deal breaker for me.
