Looking at their US site, it seems that having control over the valve to make it louder is a $500+ option? If one forgoes that, then the valve is controlled how? at will of the exhaust at certain rpm?

edit: I was doing some more research on this exhaust and apparently somehow it comes with a swithc for the interior to open and close the valve. The $500 option is for a remote control.
This is the route I am leaning towards. I am either going to go Remus (they are on Long Island, which is a few hours drive from me so I can see their stuff up close and have them install it) to save a few bucks or call all the way and get this Kreis-sieg Valvetronic F1 setup.

Here is a vid of an M5 with a Kreissieg exhaust, which costs 8k, on, showing off both the quiet and loud modes.

Thank you very much..........have always wanted to hear the quiet mode, and what "on" mode sounded like from inside the car.

Cheers,

Can anyone tell me how Kreissieg's "Valvetronic" system is any different / more effective than a pair of $149/ea QTP electronic cutouts installed somewhere after the primary cats?

No.........the feeling is that this is only acceptable for cheaper forms of performance, like turbo hondas and dragged out muscle cars.

I have been wondering the same thing? Looks like this could be achieved pretty easily with electronic cutouts and some tubing.

We sold Kreissieg in the past. Very nice systems. Electronic cutouts just dump the exhaust flow. The Kreissieg exhaust in modes On and Off still allows exhaust flow to travel through the exhaust chambers and out the tips. This exhaust is completely different than having a cutout system installed. There is two different sound chambers in the exhaust. One is a silent chamber and the other is the F1 chamber.

Thanks for the info and clearing up the long standing questions

We have just secured a relationship as a dealer for Kreissieg exhausts in the USA. We are currently in Tokyo still and should have pricing and dealer programs set up upon our return in a few days. We'll make some post about the m3 exhaust, specifics and as much question answering as we can do!

Regards,

Greg

GTM also sells Kreissieg. So you could buy one from them and never have to worry about whether or not it's genuine.

Still noone on this board with one?

Unfortunately, I still think the M5/6 exhaust sounds much more F1 than the M3 exhaust. At least according to the youtube vids. The M5/6 F1 exhaust is spot on and super fucking cool!!

Didn't realize it was this customizable...Good to see Kreissieg was listening to my original post I made in this thread a year ago.

"The exhaust sound volume can be ordered from among 5 stages.
In a standard combination, The silent mode is level 2. The F-1 mode is level 5.
Level 1. It is equal to stock.
Level 2. Quiet sports muffler
Level 3. Sports muffler
Level 4. Sports muffler of Hi pitch loud sound
Level 5. The Super Hi pitch sound.
"
