Dynamic Air Scoops Questions.....

I've been studying the different air scoops available and I was wondering about two things: 1) Do the air scoops rob air going to the radiator that might be a problem in really hot summers?

2) Is there any possibility of too much rain water going into the airbox if you were driving 60 mph in a downpour? (always a concern here in Oregon) The scoops seem to stick down down enough that it could be a problem?

As for more power as some claim, I leave that up to my butt dyno. My car ALWAYS feels faster after a new mod, only because my wallet is so much lighter...he he

In short, yes the scoops rob some of the cooling ability of the radiator but not enough to cause the engine to operate outside normal temparatures (even at the track).

2. There are slits to prevent large amounts of water from entering the airbox. But it has yet to be seen how this will effect the car over the long term. Though, there were never problems with this on the M5 and they have been using them for years.

For scoops I'd only recommend RPi. Go with the originals not the knock offs.

Is it even worth fitting for such a minimal gain? Guess if that 100 dollars is burning a hole in your wallet there are worse ways to spend it

I wish i knew for sure. It does seem expensive for two sheets of metal. There was a lot versions though and lots of R & D went into them, at least by RPi.

Considering a muffler can cost you 3K , I think 100 is very reasonable.
