RPI Full GT Exhaust Review/Dyno

I got my RPI Full GT Exhaust installed last Saturday before the VRS meet.

Overall, I am very impressed with the exhaust's performance, the quality of the product, and RPI's customer service. I have no regrets.

I did a pre and post install dyno, and the results were very good. My base line was 327hp and the car was bone stock. My post install dyno was 351hp.

Performance wise, the car pulls harder thoughout the power band. I feel more torque, and the car doesn't have that "heavy" feeling that it once had. I don't know if anyone would believe me, but while driving to the VRS meet, I took the toll roads from Yorba Linda, the car felt more to the ground, the car felt more stable. I'm guessing it's the lighter weight, maybe it's my imagination. I'm sure all the socal peeps know that drive, it's pretty curvy with elevation changes, with open highway.

Sound wise, I like it. It is loud. To describe what it sounds like, I think it has 2 tones to it. It has that deep low tone at take off/low rpm, then a higher pitch a little bit raspy scream at WOT, and there is little drone. Personally, I think it sounds better in person. The week before the install, I had my buddies hear the exhaust from the Youtube clips, and one of them didn't like it. That changed when he heard it in person that day, and says the clips don't do justice.

I recommend this to anyone who's a performance enthusiast, an attention whore (you will get stares), and those who don't mind random competition from other drivers. It has made my driving more fun. Props to RPI.

Here is the dyno.

Yea I think it would of been higher too, if it wasn't for the bad air quality. The shop was full of smoke from the exhaust.

I witnessed it all...
Eloy dynoed the car stock, threw it on the lift, reversed onto the dyno.

Now that is some real power.

Dont let people tell you that the "car needs to learn" or that the "ecu needs to reset". Im always suspicious when I put a mod on my car and when I dont see the numbers I want, they tell me that there is a learning period. If the part is going to make power, youll see it, esp when its a hardware change. Now, does the ecu learn? Yes, but its not drastic like some people might think. For example, we usually see the power gains after the first 2-3 dyno pulls.

Are these gains after or before tuning?

Awesome gains and it sounds like an awesome package both quality and price wise!

Absolutely no tune and this was all done on a Dyno Dynamics, not an inertia dyno.

+1, the learning excuse is a way for some guys to cover themselves if/when the gains don't show... won't name names.

I agree with this completely. No offense to anyone, but I did not like the sound with the Youtube clips. I didn't want something just LOUD and deep. In person, I agree with everything you said, at the top end it has that slight exotic rasp to it while conveying that muscular/strong V8 presence. The clips do not do it justice, hearing it in person settled it, one rev is all it took.

When just revving normally (2.5-3k rpm), is it loud enough to where cops would pull you over?
