Friend Request Question

I have a pending request from a member to be my friend. If I accept will this member have access to my e-mail? Though I have read the options menu it's not clear, please tell me more how this works. Thanks.

This forum is a website, so all safe web surfing safe practices apply here as well. Theres nothing unique about PM that would make it transmit viruses to your computer. if you click on a malicious link sent to you thru PM is the same as if you clicked on a link in an email or posted on a website.
