New Stoptech Trophy Brakes - Seeking a car for test fitment

“StopTech’s Trophy Brake Systems take our experience and successes from our racing program and deliver
on-track performance with no compromise,” said Dan Lelchuk, president of Centric Parts. “As far as the
brakes go, you provide the pads and the track, and a StopTech Big Brake Kit provides the rest for your stock
or tuned performance production car.”
These racetrack and competition brake systems come with StopTech’s new Trophy STR lightweight forged
calipers in four- or six-piston configurations and include the option of a quick release version of the
StopTech patented bridge. These “track only” calipers feature the same metallurgy and design of the
StopTech ST-40 and ST-60 calipers, but are engineered to provide a 20-percent reduction in weight without
sacrificing stiffness or performance. “Every race team out there is obsessed with shaving off weight, no
matter what the sport, and StopTech’s Trophy STR racing calipers do just that,” said Dino Crescentini, CEO
of Centric Parts and race car driver in the SCCA World Challenge Series on The SPEED Channel.
StopTech Trophy Big Brake Kits include the company’s patented AeroRotors, engineered to increase airflow
by 11 percent for better cooling and performance. Unique to the Trophy Brake Systems is full-floating
mounting hardware, which eliminates pad knock-back. The patented, billet 7075 aluminum AeroHats create
an additional 4 percent airflow, according to StopTech. Together, these technologies optimize the rotor
system to provide even performance and consistent feedback to the pedal under the unique combination of
hard cornering and braking found on the track.
StopTech Trophy Brake Systems will be available through motorsports distributors in January 2009 for
selected high-performance production cars including Porsche, BMW, Mitsubishi Lancer EVO, Nissan GTR
and 350Z, Chevrolet Corvette C5 and C6 and others."

BMW E9X M3 Trophy Sport:

6 Piston 380x35mm front 83.160.6D00.R1 - $3,995
4 piston 355x32mm rear 83.160.0047.R1 - $3,195

We are seeking an E9X M3(E92 M3 preferred) for test fitment, there are some qualifications, so please read the following before sending us a PM or email:

1. We will need your car for one full day initially and perhaps have you come back another for a final fitment.

2. Your vehicle most be available for display for the whole day on 5-2-2009, in Santa Barbara, California, The day of Bimmerfest 2009.

3. The complete front and rear Trophy Brakes will not be free, but will be at a substantial discount from retail. And they will be installed for you free of charge!

4. Your E9X M3 already has aftermarket wheels with large clearance for a BBK. We can send the caliper template for those who qualifies and is intersted in going foward with this.

5. Your car has other mods, such as front lower lip, carbon hood, coil-overs or has been lowered.

6. You live or willing to travel to the LA area to drop off your M3 to begin this process.

If you can answer "yes" to all of the above 5 question, please PM, email or call us.

I may have left something out, but will try to update this thread when possible.

Thanks for your time.

Harold

Too bad, you could have had me.

I'll move on somehow, now Bimmerfest will be awkward as we will avoid eye contact and I I'll try to surround myself with different brakes to comfort myself.

So this is a track only set-up?

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
