Buddy of mine had a E39 M5 with Eisenmann Race on it, sounded amazing and yes it was quite loud but not obnoxiously loud. One of the exhaust notes I've ever heard by the way...

Honestly I thought the race versions of most makes were loud untill i got them. It was'nt if you control your right foot. I removed my secondary cats and resonators and that was what i wanted. But its something you shouldnt do. Your neighbours will probably hate you for all eternity.
