Toyota/Subaru RWD Coupe

this should be interesting. 200hp, <3000lb, <$20k RWD car.
I'd be even more interesting if Subaru drop the STI's 300hp engine into that thing. True entry level RWD car!

Very cool. Maybe I will get the 135i and sell it b4 the warranty is up. By then SO many more cars with RWD will come forward. In a couple years the market will be flooded with more efficient RWD sporty small cars. Imagine a turbo STI engine in that little car.

If it's a Subaru boxer engine it'll be interesting to see how they get the weight balanced front to rear, if it's a four place car.

Japan STI gets a 2.0L turbo (twin scroll). US gets the 2.5L turbo. Same Hp/Tq on both. I'd take the 2.0L twin scroll turbo over the 2.5L, but that's just me.

This is 200 pounds less than a regular WRX so performance will be good but not amazing. I like the engine as long as you don't turn on the AC. Sounds like fun but not a paradigm shift.

Toyota/Subaru RWD Coupe

hidden under the legacy body could be a cheap 1-series fighter. 20k for a base, perhaps 30k for an STI powered 300hp RWD 2+2?

Will have to keep BMW on its feet, although the 335i seems to have no problems keeping ahead of the current STI :headbang:

If it looks and goes good I'd strongly consider it.

Even the 335xi holds it's own against the EVO and STI, you simply can't overcome BMW's knack for building balanced and fine tuned vehicles. This car is promising though.
