Tranny Fluid change

Since the M3 and the 335i have the same tranny (gs6-53bz), I figure the procedure for performing a transmission fluid change would be the same. Of course after you remove the x-pipe and the heat shield.

The M3 has an electric pump that circulates the oil from the transmission to the cooler (right front wheelwell). The dealer has a program in their diagnostic computer that cycles the pump to flush the oil cooler circuit. The rest of us don't, so we can't get all of the oil out of the transmission.

Cleaning the filter mesh that keeps crud out of the electric pump is also part of the procedure for changing the trans fluid.

It's a lot more work on an M3 than a 335.
