Also I wish they would have tested a touchless wash as well.

Best solution is to wash it yourself. Foam gun --> clean/soft washing materials and a leaf blower to dry.
The problem with the hand washes they showed are the brushes (dirty ones at that) and the dirty wash mitts. However its the winter now and washing it yourself might not be an option. |

Touchless washer either don't clean the car properly or if they do the chemical being used is worse for the paintwork than any brush system could ever be.
Though interesting these results didn't at all surprise me, having had automatic car washes for more than 15 years I knew that these are the least harmly of all the systems being tested, watch what they do, they constantly spray water at the spinning brushes clearing them of dirt as they travel along the car. None of the others including washing it yourself, though it isn't perfect it doesn't get all of the dirt and the rims are only half done. One thing, make sure the automatic wash you use has a 'foam-bright' brush system and not the plastic bristles because they are awful on the paintwork. |

Porter drops a towel and your screwed. The proper way to wash the car would be using a brand new terry towel (with the ends cut off) every car wash and every time you drop it. PLENTY of soap. |
