CF mirror covers/CF kidney grills

I've been shopping around for CF mirror covers. It looks like there are two types, one that replaces the painted portion of the mirror housing the other that is an overlay that tapes over the existing mirror. The CF overlay from bimmian is priced right and looks to be easier to install but I'm concerned might look cheap as it is just an overlay. The one from lumma designs looks great but is priced at a premium. Anybody have experience with these or the ones listed on ebay?

Also, I've seen in a few threads with people having issues with the CF kidney grill replacements bubbling with exposure to the elements. What are peoples experience with the longevity of these?

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

The CF kidney grills I have probably lasted about 2 months before bubbling all over. I will swap to matte black grills when I get around to it (they are sitting somewhere in the garage lol).

The CF mirror covers work really well in that they are a very thin application so once installed, they look like they are part of the mirror. I agree, they are priced just right and given that it's a pure cosmetic upgrade, I think it would be the better route between the two. They are held on with 3M double sided tape so they will be extremely durable and cover all of the painted portion so you cannot see it's an overlay.

For the CF front grills, the ones we carry do come with a UV protected clear coat so you should not run into bubbling issues over time.

Thanks for the replies.

Nick what length warranty do you offer on the CF grill incase it does start to bubble? So the CF mirror covers look flush once installed? Has there been any bubbling issues with this item?

Anybody else with experience with these parts please chime in.

We guarantee the part against any defects in the finish or color provided it is not due to wear and tear such as rock chips or abuse of course. We have used the same manufacturer for our grill sets for 3 years now and I have yet to have an E9X grill set returned because of quality problems.

The CF Mirror covers are a thin carbon application, similar to our interior trim and cf side gills, so they will look flush when installed.

I bought my CF side mirrors from another sponsor on the forum, here, in 1x1 weave. It's a full replacement mirror which might come in handy if you decide you don't want to keep the CF ones forever.

The quality of the CF work is great. I got the package with the hood vent surrounds, it all looks good, I haven't had a chance to install them yet.

We offer the front grills in a plain weave, the mirror covers come in a slightly different style weave.

Nick,
Thanks for your response. Two questions:

Is the weave of these CF mirror covers the same as the CF of the E92's roof or are the covers made of a heavier weave?

If the CF grill bubbles from sun exposure and there is no user caused damage would you replace this item at a year?
Thanks,
N
