Help me with BBS wheels or any comparable wheel suggestions.

I'm interested in getting some wheels that are forged/light weight. I'd like BBS, but it seems like they all require spacers? Is that the case with all their forged wheels? Anyone know if they make a 19" LM with the grey color in the proper offset? Those Champ Edition LM's were nice despite the 20" size.

I'm also looking at the new Volk wheel, but I think that it comes in 20's, as does the Yokohama F7. I'd like to avoid 20's if possible. Maybe the TE37, but it's pretty plain looking.
The MORR GB is dead and I don't know if I'd spend retail on those wheels because they are just too new as a company, and at $4500 a set, they're right up there with some very reputable brands that have been around for a long time.

It doesn't look like RAC is in business anymore either.

Then you have the wheels I consider the "bling wheels" like HRE, 360Forged, DPE, iForged. Nothing wrong with them, but they're not exactly a wheel you see at the track. Most are also in the 20" size, which is part of the reason I consider them bling wheels; I know you can have them custom made.

Any info or suggestions would be appreciated.

OZ Ultraleggera are good lightweight wheels. But I think they also require spacers.

Alloy Technic

We will have our Alloy Technic B9 in 20" coming January 15th, and the 19" ones are available now. On the 19" in the M3 offsets, the front weighs approx 19 lbs and the rears are 20.

19x8.5 et25 18.8 lbs
19x9.5 et20 19.9 lbs

They are machined and finished on order, ETA 2-3 weeks after order date. No GB necessary

To answer your original BBS question:

BBS does have a proper offset for the E92 M3 in the LM:

19x8.5 et17
19x10 et25

The LM-R is also available but the rear is a tad weak

19x8.5 et28
19x9.5 et25

RSGT is also available in diamond black or diamond silver but needs a 10mm spacer up front

19x8.5 et35
19x10 et25

RGR is also available in diamond black or diamond silver but needs a 10mm spacer up front

19x8.5 et32
19x10 et25

If you need a quote on any of these, or the Alloy Technic posted above, just let us know. Thanks!

Thanks Peter!! Great info on the BBS.

Are the B9 cast or forged? The only problem is I'm looking for a charcoal color since I think it's hard to see the details of a wheel when it's black.

You're right, the new Volk TE37 G2 is currently only available in 20" but 19" and possibly 18" fitment for the M3 will be available soon.

There are other Volk Rays wheel styles that have 18" & 19" M3 fitments also, without having to use spacers, like the RE30 and CE28N, both forged and lightweight. These need to be special-ordered through any of the various Volk Rays wheels distributors/dealers (which all work through Mackin from my understanding) and it will take around 3 months to get them. The good thing about Volk wheels is that they will fit all your criteria and will offer the option of special colors/finishes at a modest extra cost. See Rays wheels website and you'll find a list of these various Rays Volk wheels that can be ordered in the 5x120 bolt pattern with the appropriate offsets front & back for the M3.

Personally, I'm looking to get an 18" set of Volk RE30 or TE37 (original version, not the G2) to use a track set. They are the logical choice for forged wheels because there is no sense in spending big $$ for more expensive forged wheels if you're going to potentially ruin them from the corrosive brake dust from race pad compound at track events.

Hey no problem, we have to live up to our name

The B9 is forged of a 6000 series alloy from an 8000T press. The second photo in my thread above is actually of a gloss charcoal. Here is a shot of my buddy's E90 335i with a charcoal set installed.

Not sure if you are working with someone yet, but if not, Wheel Experts is now a VOLK dealer. If you need help with a set, let me know. Admittedly, I don't have all the info yet, but it is coming in the next day or so.

Have you considered the Enkreuz wheels? We can get you set up with a set of Competition wheels at a great price!

Any idea when they'll have a 19" version?

I actually like the Enkreuz look/weight/construction, but they don't seem to do well on the resale market, or it could just be a soft market now. Resale is a consideration because I may not keep the car after a 3 year lease.

This looks sexy to me, even in 20's. It's Chompino's car on another forum.

I was told the G2 will likely be available around springtime in the 19" sizes...In the meantime RE30s are an option as well

I'm not sure if it's just Enkreuz alone. I think that goes for all the forged wheels. But honestly, resale values will fluctuate so it's hard to predict. If you're looking to get the most resale value I suggest that you not buy wheels because like cars, they're not exactly an appreciating asset.

Also, as Peter Elaborated on the BBS, there are plenty wheels that come with suitable fitments without spacers for the E9X M3.

Also, although the Yokohama Advan RS, are not forged they are one the best cast wheels on the market with superb fitments.

Let us know if you need any help on any of the above wheels, including Wheels by Volk and Yokohama.

Julius, I'm definitely considering the NEEZ 7.

Thanks to all the venders who gave great suggestions with nice pics. I'll have to wait for the G2's to come out in 19's and then decide. Tops on the wish list would be: LM's, NEEZ QD7, G2 with a close next tear of: RE30, B6, one of the Yoko wheels. Unfortunately, price will then be a factor when all the wheels are out.
