UUC SSK Install Question

For those of you who personally installed your UUC SSK, were you able to get the yellow plastic washer to fit on the selector rod pin and attach the C-clip? I am finding there isn't enough room on the pin and can't attach the C-clip unless I remove the yellow plastic washer.

Thanks for any input.

Matthew

I installed mine and no, I left the yellow washer off. Couldn't get the clip to go on with it there.

Thx.

Does your shifter make a loud metallic "click" sound while moving into gears one, three and five ...

But, sound much better (solid thunk) when shifting into two, four and six?

One and two are a bit notchy. I can hear three in the morning sometimes when it is cold out and it isn't up to temperature yet. The rest of the shifts are fine. I have about 6K miles on the car and I would say that it has smoothed out significantly in the last thousand miles or so.

But to answer the question, no I don't believe I have noticed a difference in the quality or sound of the shifts between the even and the odd gears.

Mine does not make a metallic clicking sound (or any other unusual sound) when shifting into any gears.

I also left the yellow washer off. I tried for 30 minutes, but it was impossible. The clip was on so tight without the washer that it was hard to rotate it.
I did not notice any washer when removing the stock shifter. I guess its their to snug up the clip.
