Car duster?

Does anyone here use and recommend a dry car duster? Should I get one of these, or just wash the car more frequently?

I use my "california car duster" all the time. My car usually just gets dusty...so I use the duster. then, I finish with an instant detailer. I rarely have to "wash" my car (just the wheels).

If your car just gets "dusty", I would say give it a shot. If you end up with a car with mud, etc on it, it will not work for that.

+1 on the California Car Duster - if its just regular road dust and whatnot - but I wouldn't use it on "REAL" dirt, basically if it rains and you drove your car - you need to wash it. but if your car is clean, but it has a bit of dust on it, California Car Duster is perfect.

I also wouldn't use it toooo often on dark colors as im sure you will see minor swirls from it overtime. but on white/silver and other lights colors. Works perfect!

Thanks guys, I think I'll look into this. My car is Space Gray, and has a tendency to start getting a light layer of dust a couple of days after I wash it.

the only one thats excellent and leaves no lint, and picks up dust like a magnet is the Zymol duster but its excpensive $40. I bought one about a month ago and it works great its a must have for me because I have jet black. You can order it off their wesite, and they sent me a 10% off coupon with it for my next purchase.

Dusters

I've had good results with Calfiornia Duster on silver & white. It uses waxed coton fibers. Surprisingly, it works better after it gets a little dirty. No experience with Zymol one, which is wool and uses a static principal to pick up dirt.

i dont use a duster because i am still skeptical... i mean you dont know what the duster is picking up off your car. it might be ok most of the time but i am afraid it picks up road grime and then scratches the rest of the body and by the time i realise it, it would be too late to do anything except to bring it to a detailer...

so the way i do it is just let the car get dirty and then wash it once every 10 days or so...

I've been using the California Duster for years with exceptional results on both light and dark color cars. The trick is not to use it on heavy grime - light dust only and you shouldn't scratch your paint. Shake it vigorously after each use (outside) and don't press hard with it on your finish...if you are having to press hard to remove dust - then your car needs a wash - not just a dusting. I use mine as a complement to washing the car in between washes. I don't use in on the wheel dust as I don't believe it would be good to dirty it up with brake dust and spread that everywhere.
