Low Tire Pressure Warning

Took the M on a road trip from NYC up to Syracuse this past weekend - fantastic fall drive. When I started it up on Saturday morning (after sitting outside on a cold night) I had a warning that all 4 tires were low. On visual inspection they all looked fine. I drove around a bit - checked the pressure (which was fine) and reset the TPMS with the button on the dash - warning went away and didn't come back.

I'm assuming it was compression due to the cold air, but wanted to see if this has ever happened to anyone else?

You are 100% correct. The sudden drop in temp will affect your tire pressure. It is better to check/adjust the tire pressure during the start of the cold season.

If the pressure is fine then it's probably not the TPMS but rather just the cold air as you've mentioned. If it persists then you might have a TPMS leak.

Happened to me yesterday too. I figured it was due to the cold weather. Thanks for the reassurance.

Same thing happened to me. BMW Service Dept said it was because of the cold weather.

Edit: I just checked my tire presure, and fronts were about 7 psi under, rears 5 psi. I used the M Mobility air cimpressor in the trunk...very cool!
