The ring is a one way public highway. Everyone can drive it in any type of motorized vehicle.

I have no idea how much power it had, I was reeling him in on the straights but I had no chance in the corners. My car was understeering bad by that point.

Thanks. That was my 22nd lap at the Ring. I spent a lot of time down in Iraq watching videos and learning the lines so I've probably driven it thousand of times in my head.

Thanks! I know what you mean, that's why I made sure the camera was mounted. My first video was with my wife holding the camera and I was getting sea sick watching it. This track is extremely bumpy.

Small world.... I snapped some pictures of an interesting 1-series when I was at the 'ring for the 24 hour race last year (2007).

Anyways, I must say that I am jealous. When I took these pictures I was working in Germany for the summer, during which I made many trips to Nuerburg... however, in the summer the track is booked every weekend, so I was never able to get any laps in.

Man all this talk about next year is driving me crazy! To bad I have to leave. It has been fun!
I just might have to go one more time before I regret it.
There was a few lines in your video I really need to try.
Now I know where you ran off too when the track finally cleared up!

Yup, that was him. Same license plate. Maybe the next time you are over, you can consider going to the Ring on a weekday. They are opened from 1700 - 1900 on most days and the track is clear of traffic. The weekends are bad, if its not racing events, it is the large number of tourists that show up.

Man, I really want to go again. I think they open at 0900 this Saturday until 1900. If I go, I would want to go on Friday night and stay the night at Spangdahlem but I got the Hail and Farewell to go to. But let me know what you guys are planning. I need to convince the wife... again....

Oh yeah, it was slippery. My confidence was shot after the first minute of the first lap. I'm usually a lot more aggressive and I don't mind getting tail happy, just ask GhOsT_E90 He made several funny comments when he rode with me through a lap. hehe Something to the affect of, "Don't get us killed".

CSLs are awesome. I tried keeping up with one before, didn't quite work out for me. He was still in sight by the end of the lap but every time there was a corner, he pulls a little further away from me. The only thing that saved me was I had more straight line speed.
