For Foreign Policy being McCain's strong suit, Obama did pretty well and held his own.

No one stole this debate from the other, it kept going back and forth. However I am every pleased with Obama's performance. I just wished he would of stoped saying "I agree with McCain." Other than that I'd give Obama the slight edge 51 to 49

It seems that all the legislators who say anything about it say that they saw it coming. Well, if that's true, why didn't they DO anything about it before now?

Then some idiot who happens to be the treasury secretary and some con man who is the Federal Reserve chairman both say they need 700 billion dollars of OUR MONEY so they can do with it whatever they want, without the possibility of having to answer to anyone, and that no court would be able to look at it. The stinking Congress ate it up, hook, line and sinker.

Then the president made his speeches about how terrible it is to be if we DON'T agree to this money grab RIGHT NOW!!! No time to read the four pages that steals from all of us to give to corporations. No time to read that this is the biggest move toward the tyranny of the powerful over the many. It is socialism or fascism Whatever you might want to call it. It is a hybrid of the two and must be stopped.

The only thing that has stopped this from being a done deal is the calls and emails sent by many voters. When this stops, we are doomed. They will pass this thing in some form.

Call (202) 224-3121 for the U.S. capital switchboard operator.

Ask for YOUR representative by name and state. Tell them what you think. I called mine and left voicemail.

I'll call my Senators as well. Maybe I'll also call President Bush.

UPDATE: Again, people hear the word "claim" and assume I'm implying something that the word "claim" does not mean. (It means to assert as fact. It does not mean to FALSELY assert as fact.) McCain did indeed deliver a speech on the Senate floor in 2006 in which he warned of a problem with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the risks they posed to the housing market and the economy as a whole. But that said, any attempt to paint him as the Paul Revere of this current crisis doesn't seem to square with his "straight talk" from November 2007.
I appears that it is not entirely a surprise for McCain. It appears that he spoke to the U.S. Senate about it two years ago. It must not have been that bid of a deal to him, or Congress would have tried to do something earlier than this week. For them to say that we must do something right now to head off doom is only their means of trying to get something through that closer scrutiny would deny.

Let it fail. Burn baby burn!

John McCain said we need more flexibility in a President. Which is odd because McCain is as flexible as a sumo wrestler.

This from the same person who on another thread said 'no one can win a debate.'
Now he declares a winner? It must be because I am one of the 51% of Americans he called idiots. Or maybe I'm one of those McCain supporters he called Morons.
So since he never seems to make sense and waivers and changes position in between insulting Americans it's no wonder no one takes him seriously.
