How many are paying the "Dealer Fee" on top of your deal?
I see that a lot of people talk about $500 or $1000 over invoice but I am wondering how many are giving in to the $600 Dealer Fee on top of taxes, tag and registration.
Now $1000 over invoice turns into $1600 over invoice. I have not seen anyone disclose dealer's fees amount for all the nonsense like detailing, prep and so on. This is full profit for the dealer on top of your negotiated price. To me $1000 over invoice is just that. |

No Doc or Dealer fees here in Los Angeles... Thank goodness. I used to hate those fees when I lived and purchased cars in Utah.

MACO - Marketing and Advertising Costs for BMWNA. Shows up on the Invoice.
One dealer quoted $1100 another $380 in LA. You are paying for BMW TV commercials and billboards. Crazy!!! Any they don't tell you till you see the Invoice. MACO is not charged if you pay MSRP. Cheers, |

Wow... interesting... No MACO or training fees from my dealer in LA. Just invoice plus a couple hundred. I remember asking him what Documentation fees were going to be and he gave me a look like I was talking greek and said it was this price and TTL, but if I wanted to pay him for drawing up Docs he would take it. I politely declined... lol

I think the fees you guys are talking about are different than what the original poster is talking about. In Florida, every single dealer that I e-mailed had a "Dealer Fee". It varied from $300 to $650. They say it includes the floor mats and dealer prep and is not negotiable.

Utah has the same but they call it Doc prep fees... Last time I checked they were between $200-$300. This was a few years ago and they are totally separate from TTL.
PDI is usually only for used cars. Sucks that Florida charges for PDI and mats are usually the "gift" from the sales guy. You get boned in FL thats for sure. |
