I raced one on a 30 roll to about 80.. He pulled on me ..1 1/2 car's... I let off i didn't want a ticket or get in a accident... I caught up to him..we talked.. He said he had open exhaust from the header to the back...All modd's done except the belt for the super charger (blower)...I don't understand but he was all in it.... Fast and big... He caught me off gaurd..... I'd like to do it again...to 114......There fast loud too... Don't do it..You might get beat (stock)) But they'll never tell you of there stock.. Cheap mod's to go faster......... Tell him at the track...

back on topic, OP, i disagree with you. if driven properly, the GT500 should win the a drag race every time. but as people have already said, with the extra weight and traction problems plaguing the "average" driver, it should be a driver's race between the two fairly often. road course/autoX...well, let's just say i'd put my money on you, not the Shelby.

to the OP- i pulled on my friends 08 gt500 with my 335i coupe with only a jb2x on 95 oct. as my friend put it "i showed him my tail lights" you shpuld be fine especially with DCT.

Well I've got a GT500 and have test driven a new M3 (hopefully a replacement for my leased 335i). During my test drive I was able to run it out a couple of times and I would have to say the M3 would beat the GT500 anyware except for a drag race. The GT500 pulls like a monster when you run it out it in a straight line, but throw in a corner it struggles big time.

Driver's race for sure. if he knows how to get a good launch it will be tough to beat. Getting those mid-4s times in an M3 is no easy task.

It's hard as hell to launch those things, something I hope Ford remedies in the 2010 update. I just hope that they don't increase the price of the Mustang GT much. I respect Ford for being the only carmaker to offer a RWD V8 powered coupe for $25-30K. I can assure the Camaro V8 models will NOT be offered for anything less than $28-29K.

think the GT500 might edge you out, but I prefer the m3 personally.
