I love the additional pics as well. Someday, I hope to drive the corkscrew, it would certainly rock. I see you didn't try any Zanardi/Herta type passing through the corkscrew.

Do you have a thread about your wheels? Did you consider going with an all square setup on your wheels and using spacers for the rear?

looks like turn 5 or could be the cork screw in your signature

nobody is going to give you a point by in the cork screw

here is the thread about my tire setup - I use 18mm spacers in the front to deal with the correct offset - Square would be tough since my rears are 285s:

Ya, from our trip to Infineon and watching you drive, I could tell you were holding back. Whan i went to Laguna, I was getting low to mid 1:40's on the PS2's and that was my first track visit there and with this particular M. I'm sure you would destroy that if you pushed it next time around with your skills and tire setup now.

I went with Square - same type of wheel in 9's with 265 all around. and a 5 mm spacer in the rear. I love it so far. this way I can rotate tires too. the lighter tires and wheels may just offset the advantage of the wider tire?

I don't have the numbers in front of me, but isn't the offset difference from front to back 15mm? If I'm correct, wouldn't you need a 15mm spacer to approximated stock wheel offset. I going to buy track wheels and tires, so I just want to make sure I have this correct. Sorry for the momentary thread jack.

Difference is 5mm front to back. I'd think 4 18 x 10 TRMs with et25 would work nicely on one of these cars. If you stick with the 9.5s (et35) you would need 10mm spacers all the way round.

I got 18 x 8.5 in the front with 265/35/18 ET44, they need the 18mm spacers - I know I should have gone 18 x 9 or even 18 x 9.5...made mistake when ordering

yes - 10 or12 mm would be ideal - but five works.

Lol...love the subtle post. I was referring to lap time not track speed. So you're saying a professional race driver was getting 142 at Laguna...are you sure? My friend in his ZO6 was getting lower than that. Disclaimer: We were not using a transponder..rather a stop watch( may account for the margin of error).

I wasn't really watching how fast I was down the straight, however if memory serves me I think I glanced at my speed before turn 2 and I was up at about 125MPH-130MPH

At Reno-Fernley I almost hit 140MPH down the front straight and going into the esses I was still at about 115MPH...lots of fun, post of Reno Fernley will follow shortly

Randy Pobst is one of the best drivers in U.S. he has experience with a multitude of cars, and countless championships.

He ran a 1:42.9 with a stock M3 Coupe, DCT, sunroof on street tires.

My GT3 ran 1:42.0 with a top speed of 116 mph (Traqmate verified) on RA-1. My first time at that track. The telemetry shows a 1:41 possible lap, even though I was braking at turn 1 (experienced drivers go flat-out).

The 997 GT3 ran 1:39 with a Pro-Driver (Max Angelelli) in a car with MPSC and PCCB. The C6 Z06 with this same driver ran 1:40.9

I doubt anyone here can touch 1:42s on street tires with the M3, or 1:39s with r-compound (non slicks) at Laguna Seca.

You ran a 1:42 braking for turn 1? Sounds like you were kicking butt over the rest of the course.

Turn one hint:
Go under the start finish bridge on the right half of the track. Look past the hill to the third telephone pole on the right and aim for it. It sounds funny to recommend aiming for a telephone pole at 130 mph, but it's a great reference.
I could be wrong! It could be the 4th pole, but you get my drift. It'll set you up perfect every time. And for God's sake check the corner worker at 1 before you commit.
