I actually like my dealership

After reading all the endless threads about all the negative experiences most of you have had with dealerships, I figured I'd would post some positive. I live in Tampa and dealt with Bert Smith BMW. I must say, These guys are professional, straight to the point and no BS. The major thing they did for me which made me appreciate them is they actually waived my sales tax. See my e46 m3 was Texas registered (I lived in Texas before), so trading my car in Florida does not entitle me to get sales tax. In my case it was $900 that I had to pay. I get a call a couple of days after I signed my contract telling me I need to sign a new contract and I'm thinking here we go. Long story short, I walk in and they tell me "your payment is still the same, we have waived the $900 for you" I honestly think that is rare and I was very appreciative. You bet they're getting 5's when I get that survey call. Because I bored you guys I included a picture so you don't flame me lol

Thats awesome. Yeah, most posts are about negatives... No flames for the picture, we save that for annoying ones.

Thanks for the positive post. There are plenty of good people in dealerships that are just trying to make a living.

Jerez Black? Good photo. It's not Alpine White, but we'll let it slide. This time.

Actually, as far as service goes, BMW of Monrovia, down here in Southern California has been good to me. For the past 4 services, I have no complains. The last time I've taken my ZHP to have the steering wheel and the shift knob replaced, better materials were installed. I was happy happy .
I gave them a 5 on the survey
I guess i have to wait to find out what my purchase experience on the M3 will be like
PS. by the way, they covered rentals for free on the last two trips I made

You know it might be that the negatives and positives are equal. The reason it doesn't seem like that might be that you never hear about the good because that's whats expected.

classic bmw in dallas has never done me wrong. excellent throughout and grade A+ facilities.

i think a lot of people have so many complaints about car dealerships is 90% their own attitude towards them. unfortunately, a lot of people out there have an idea about car dealerships as if they are out to get them. while it may be the case for some, most dealerships inherently, especially a brand like bmw, want to keep the customer happy and keep you coming back. next, establishing a good rapport with your CA, SA, and the dealership in general is key to getting things done with those guys. if you're like me, i'll have a bmw in the garage for the rest of my life. having a good rapport with your people gets you a lot more payoff down the road than nitpicking and treating those people like shit. just my 2 cents!

norm seward was my guy...another old dude! he was a badass though. he's the kind of old that would be going really slow in the left lane trapping you into , but as soon as he takes the yoke, he flies it like a video game. he's got zillions of hours and a genuinely nice guy.

I never have any negative experience with my dealers too. They all took good care of me. Not a single problem ever with any of the 4 dealers I worked with before!
