Hmm, says that guy is from Dallas. I might have to give him a ring when it comes time to pick up my M3.

Pretty superb job he does on that GTR. Although I can't tell if he is just a detailer the owner hired or if its his car. There are a few times he refers to the owner as if its someone else.

Clay needs lube to work. The dawn/water would act as the lube.

It is not his car. If you read through the whole thread, you will find that the owner of the car hired him to detail the car. The dealership let him work in their facilities. He also told the owner to tell the dealership not to touch the car at all.

I'd love to learn from someone like that on how to detail a car.

The reason he is using Dawn is because it will strip any type of wax that is on the car. It's fine to use if your washing your car to strip everything off of it. Once you put wax on, I wouldn't use dawn unless your trying to restart from scratch. That being said any car soap or dawn will work as a lube for the clay bar.
