Vorsteiner Rear-Diffuser Installation

I just received my Vorsteiner diffuser today, and I was wondering if anyone had any information on how to install it. I see the 4 screw eyelets, but how is the front held on? I heard something about 3M tape. I'm also assuming I would need to get a jack and jack stands, correct? Any help would be appreciated.

You don't need to jack the car up to install it. All you need is 3M tape and it helps a lot if you can get that 3M tape adhesion promoter because it really makes the tape stick so much better. Oh yeah, make sure you use a wax remover before you put the tape on as well. It's easy enough to install it yourself, but if you can find a good body/customization shop, they probably have the packets of the adhesion promoter sitting around and it would take them all of 10 minutes to install the diffuser for you without making rookie errors. They shouldn't charge you very much at all. Some people don't use the good tape, adhesion promoter, or don't remove the wax and wonder why the tape doesn't work well.

I like the description in the link I provided:

Salesman Note: A question I often get asked is: "Do I really need 06396 Adhesion Promotor for the attachment tape to stick?". Answer: Yes and No. No, if you don't care if it falls off after a period of time. Yes, if you don't want to worry about the tape turning loose. The tape turning loose is not the real problem. It's the fact that you're taking a chance of loosing or destroying a high priced molding or emblem. Some moldings may cost as much as $200.00. Sometimes cutting costs up front isn't economical in the long run.

Yep, in addition, there are several bolts underneath the car that will attach the diffuser to the vehicle.

+1 on the 3M. Those hold up so well, through the chicago winters and the "Floods of the Midwest".

Its Carbon Fiber it doesn't need to be painted unless you wanted to color match your car.

If in the future I want to remove this, will the 3M tape damage the paint? What would be the best way to remove the 3M tape? Thanks

Not at all, the 3M tape is designed to be removed. You can use floss and a heat gun to heat up the paint and floss in between the paint and 3M tape. If there is any residue, Goo Gone will do the trick.

It can be removed without damage. The best way to remove 3M tape is an eraser pad attachment, that's what bodyshops use.
