Sleepy Member, wishing I was on the road.

I've determined that any tuned EQ is gonna sound alright with the type of music you dialed it into, but will sound bad with others. Pick a genre you want to hear the loudest and tune to that.

The EQ should not be set to make a particular song/genre sound "better" but rather should be set to reproduce sound accurately. When that happens, you hear how the song was meant to sound. Trying to fit the EQ to a variety of tastes in music is just pointless.
PencilGeek's thread is a good starting point, as he actually measured sound levels, etc. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=137825.
