At the moment, I really don't need a back seat, a 2nd set of doors, or a large trunk.
I would love a 2 seater.

But then again my 325i was cheaper....i'de much rather have a Cayman S in several yrs

wait to see the rear of the coupe in person, it's going to look lame

the rear of the coupe is 3-4 inches taller than the roadster, and the whole section wide.

it looks bitchin from the front 3/4 but the rear is going to look terrible

This is a hard decision. I personally find hard tops to be more aerodynamic and faster, also to me is just more sturdy. However if your just looks for a luxurious M then roadster has a little of both. But I would test drive one befoer getting it. it is no m3 ill say that right now.

I'd go with the coupe. If I want a convertible to just cruise around in and enjoy the sun, I can fine good one for alot cheaper.

I´ve seen the advertising from the new Z4 Coupé while my last two cinema visits...certainly as M-version in interlagos blue...my "summer" car or second
BMW - but this car is a dream, the sound, the design...totally a fantastic package!!!
