Question Good or Bad Deal on 2009 M3?

Dealer offering 2009 M3 (new order) with Fox red leather, CWP, PP, 19", Moonroof, Nav, Ipod: $63013 (out the door) for Alpine white or $63500 (out the door) for Sparkling Graphite (Sept -Oct delivery date). What do you guys think about prices? Thanks in advance.

$63,000!

thats a bargain!...well compared to Australia

drive away price here is around $170,000!...or $163,000USD

talk about getting bent over!...fuel is not much better here at $1.70/L, the equivalent of $6.46/G!

Coupe or sedan? Is out the door including title/tax/license fees? I haven't seen 2009 pricing announced, but if this is for a sedan and only includes the car price, then 2009 pricing would have to go up quite a bit for the discount to be close to the current 2008 discounts. For example, the AW 2008 car with those specs would have a $63,675 MSRP. Search the forum to see what prices people are currently getting.

Order is for 2009 Coupe. Out the door price includes tax, title, license fees and BMW floormats ( $149): $63,000.00 for AW, $63500.00 for SG. Thanks

Prices have already been negotiated-- Just a matter of me letting SA know which color so he can deposit my down-payment check ($1000.00) and place order. I only negotiate with out the door prices. These dealers never lose money-- it's always a matter of the buyer trying to minimize his/her losses.

To the best of my knowledge, BMW has not announced 2009 prices yet. And there will be a price increase. Porsche is increasing 911S prices by about 3% for 2009. Just make sure that when BMW releases 2009 prices, these guys don't come back and try to tag something onto what you've agreed to.

Lucid: BMW would be stupid to increase prices the way the economy is going and the ever-increasing price of gas these days. Never-the-less, I see what you are saying. Trust me, that would be a deal breaker. They'll probably try to get me with the extended warranty (which I'll decline anyway). So, do you think the deal is good?

Wow! Sounds like a very good deal then.

RE: price increases. Even GM who we know needs sales as bad as any automaker right now is increasing their 09 prices by 3.5% largely on materials cost.

GM is also giving 0% APR financing to sell their product. the best i've seen BMW offer is 2.9-3.9% APR depending on model and model year. I'll probably call SA tomorrow and give him the Go-ahead on the AW (still torn between the AW & SG).

OK. An 08 AW coupe with those specs invoices at $59,975. So... for $3,028 they are absorbing the 09 price increase (could be over 1k) and tax/title/license (not sure what your state's costs are, but 6%+ for me). Do they want to sell another car at the same time?

Ronin: I just purchased a 2008 X5 (3.0) loaded for my wife-- MSRP $57800. Got it for $37,000.00 (out the door with trade-in ($20,000.00). So, they may be giving me this deal as a recent and repeat customer. They probably would do $65,000-66,000.00 out the door (depending on options). I'm still working with a few other dealers ( bidding war), so i'll let you know details if interested.

MSRP for a 08 model comes to 64325 with destination. If I remember correctly GG is 1300, which brings it to 65625. With registration and licence, it's probably like 66000. I don't know what the sales tax is where you live. So, 63500 sounds like a pretty good deal for a MY09 car.

BMW already bumped up the prices slightly in the middle of this model year. I've never witnessed such a thing. And they always increase prices in between model years. I'd say MY09 price increase is a sure thing, but it's not clear by how much. Anyway, as long as they'll stick to their current offer, this looks like a good deal to me, but do ask around.

My only suggestion is to get the tech package since you are already going to get navigation. Well worth it IMO.

Thanks. I'll look into the tech package. Sales tax in Va. is 4.5%. I do think the deal is good, but since I'm in no rush and car won't be available until late Sept.-Oct. I'll still be looking around-- there are some great deals out there, just have to be patient.

You will not be getting 2.9-3.9% rates on a M-model.

BMW Finance are higher on M-modes, something like 5.9%. Better to go with an outside financial firm.

Your getting a good deal.

Alpine white, Fox leather, CWP, PP, 19, Nav, Ipod

$61,675
+$1,300 gas guzzler
=$62,975 (not including tax, license, doc fee, registration)

You better get that in writing.

Car sales tax in VA is 3% not 4.5%

Cool

$62975 plus $825( destination) about $63800. Invoice is about $59000-60000.
Va. car sales tax 3%, looking at financing at 4.2-5.0% APR. Just can't seem to decide between AW & SG-- AW almost seems too common.

These are great times to buy a new or a used car. Both markets have taken huge hits because of the economy.

Paying a deposit with a check is a big mistake. If you use a credit card, you can always get your funds back, and most dealers won't even try and play games. You won't get that response with a check. I know you're thinking that you will purchase the car with certainty, but I was there two weeks ago (months after my order, with the car already in production) before my bond fund got transferred back to New York City, which is a butcher shop for cars. Needless to say, there's a beautiful DCT en-route to my dealer that I will not be picking up.

Thumbs down UPDATE

Spoke to SA today-- Now states that they don't have production date opening on MY2009 M3, but could get me 2008 M3 (as ordered) by end of september for $63500.00 (out the door). 2009 M3 would be around October and 6-8 weeks delivered after that (for $65,000.00 out the door)! Told them to place order for 2009 M3 as previously ordered and gave $1000 deposit with CC. Needless to say: bidding war continues!
