White Stripes for a jerezblack M3

Hey guys,

i m going to take delivery in the coming days. my car will be jerez-black with cf-roof (e92).

What do you think of a white stripe on the left and right side of the car like some Porsche have?



Just White on black ground and with something like ===M=3== or ===BMW== or ===Hammer== (it´s my nickname in reallife too according to my familiename).

Never listen to anyone from the US school you on what looks good on a European car. It's like somone from Coca Cola telling the French how Champagne should taste like!!!!

Do some homework first, maybe photoshop it first. Bottom line decals can be removed or updated if it didn't go to plan.

As for the flaming in the other thread, yet again Yanks don't know sh*t!!! From the country which brought us metal flake paint and flames on cars I think they need a history lesson on BMW striping.

I say give it a shot, vinyl's relatively cheap...it certainly won't look any worse than some of the tacky wheels you've seen here.

white on Jerez is too much, might try matte clear or matte black for something understated, I like the colored M stripes, but then I love Martini stripes too.

You are right with the vinyl and even more right about the wheels. Since when did a big lip chrome wheel become classy?? As written on another thread.

As for the comments above that I'm stuck in the 80's although the cars pictured were from the 70's, Porsche's GT3 RS stripes are a homage back to the 70's cars and no one seems to criticise those.

Have you guys over the pond not seen BMW's performance range yet including side stripes?

Lose the stripes on the bumper and triple m stripe on the hood. Keep the sides but change ///M Power to just ///M or ///M3. Would look pretty cool then. I wouldn't use white. I'd use a some sort of gray so it doesn't stand out too much. I don't think it will look tacky. But you can always try it with vinyl and take it back off if it doesn't work for you.
