Real time traffic information

Anyone tried this feature?

Based on my experience, it only works when you have programmed a destination in the Nav. It's very cool...if there is traffic, it will show on the Nav screen and the system will suggest an alternate route.

+1 Went to Houston this past weekend and it told me traffic jam for about 7 minutes delay 30 miles in advance and offer a different route. I actually stayed on to test it out. I was delayed for 8 minutes not too bad. Very cool feature. So far I have been very impressed with the NAV, it's nice too. They say, "please turn here or there". My NAV in my Infiniti just say "turn here", not so nice.

So comparing to a garmin nuvi, is it better, worse, the same?

I have a nuvi that works pretty well.

yes, it works great in LA traffic... saved my ass quite a few times on friday evenings heading to LA. sometimes it takes a few minutes to update, but that's coz of source of data.

I thought LA traffic was bumper to bumper 24/7 in all locations

i'm having a hard time trusting the traffic info - some of the routes its taken me on have been pretty out of the way. Just last night it rerouted me - i took an exit watching freeway traffic flowing just fine.. the route took me too far away from the freeway to see.. so i just kept on going.

if anyone has a portable nav with traffic info (tom tom or garmin) it would be worth comparing traffic info to see how it would reroute.

but hey, i guess i'll have to go with "innocent until proven guilty" and just follow it. Could be worse!

its pretty accurate to CHicago traffic. I tried it on my frd's 335 and i love that feature. its save my time !

nah, dies down after 7 or 8 pm... well depends on what day. but the worst is accidents, and it will tell u there's an accident and re-routes you around it
