IS-F VS M3 Video
Thought this was interesting. Crappy driver perhaps? Need to see the IS-F VS M3 M-DCT.

Its obvious the M3 driver doesn't know how to handle the clutch from a dig. I've seen many videos from professional drivers all having the M3 ahead.
This sort of amateur video is more for fun than anything else in my opinion.

Nice find. I would think they would or should be neck to neck on any straightline race. But from that video, the race from a dig should have been even, the guy in the M3 either missed a gear or don't know how to launch properly.

Except for the C63 when it comes to straighline race. But i think it's pretty obvious the guy on the M3 is not that good with the 6spd manual. DCT equipped M3 i would suspect would be quicker as well.

It takes a decent amount of skill and luck to launch a rwd car with over 400hp, this is one of the reasons why M5Board run the drag races from 50km/h, takes this skill/lucky out of the mix.
It's one of the reasons why I will not be tackling any IS-F or RS4 when I get my M3, well off the line that is. |

M-DCT will take car of that, bet the M3s with M-DCT will win by at least 1/2 CL or more every time and in every situation.....

I could care less if the IS-F WAS faster...IMHO the exhaust looks like Star Trek gone bad and the handling is nowhere near that of the M. For some people, they would rather roll in a Lexus, and that's fine, my wife has one (GX 470)...great car. But for me, I want the conering ability and balance.
So, even if the IS-F is faster, I could care less! Wait till they match up at a real track (like Infineon) and see who is "better".

From the photos it Looks like the ISF and M3 owners are friends. And i don't see why would the M3 owner/driver would rigged a video with him loosing in his M3. I would think he would have more pride than that. I just think he can't drive or race a 6spd manual that well.

i didn't see this thread earlier. I am the driver of the M3 and the IS-F belongs to my friend. The first video with this link
is the one which actually went well. The other two are the ones which I didn't see the green in time and I launched late. I didn't know he was going to post them. M3 may get an edge when done properly as you can see in the link above. M-DCT would be really good there with the launches and shifts. No matter how fast I shift, it's not going to be as fast as the automatic. The IS-F has a lot of torque compared to the M3 too. I slowed down at the end before the IS-F did as there was something in my way. In a straight line, I would say these cars are very close. On a track, I am sure you guys know what would happen.
